Jo has practiced yoga for nearly 20 years, training with teachers in both in the UK and India and has been influenced by a wide variety of yoga styles (Classical Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, Viniyoga and Dru Yoga).

The system she follows is called “Living Yoga”, taking teachings handed down from the Himalyan sages of Northern India over thousands of years and applying them to a gentle, modern day Hatha Yoga practice. This complete system takes yoga into our everyday lives, on and off the mat, enabling us to make a deeper connection with our body and mind and cope better with the hectic world that we live in.

Jo aims to nurture and inspire people through yoga. Her classes incorporate gently flowing postures (asana), breathing exercises (pranyama), relaxation and meditation techniques (pratyahara, dharana and dhyana). Sessions work on developing core-strength, increasing flexibility, improving wellbeing and encouraging a deeper connection of body and mind. They are accompanied by thoughts and observations which introduce aspects of yoga philosophy. Demonstrations are given with options and modifications offered, making the classes suitable for all levels.
