This weekend intensive will introduce students to the methodologies of traditional Hatha yoga. Combining the approaches of Vipassana meditation with hatha yoga asana, Isaac draws on over 20 years’ experience to bring a methodology that is both challenging, introspective and transformative.
We begin with deep breath work to reduce inflammation, focus the mind, and energise the body, thus preparing the student for the challenging practice of hatha yoga and back-bending.
The workshop is open to all levels. The student should be prepared for an intense and challenging practice.
Both dates follow the same schedule and can be attended individually, however students will benefit from advancement across the weekend if they attend both.
Isaac began practicing Ashtanga Yoga 20 years ago, initially only to complement his career as a dancer with companies including the English National ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Spanish National Ballet. At 23 his desire to pursue yoga overtook his desire to dance, prompting him to train as a teacher.
He has travelled extensively in India, studying many styles including Ashtanga, Sivananda and Iyengar. Isaac has been lucky enough to learn from many great teachers including Richard Freeman, David Svenson, Liz Lark, Padma Nair, Vinay Kumar, Wim Hof, Yogacharya Venkatesha, Acharye Hema, and many more. He would also like to acknowledge the immense influence in his life of spiritual teacher Mata Amritanandamayi, the plant medicines, and all the teachings received from friends and family. Isaac is qualified with the British wheel of Yoga and is certified by the Yoga Alliance.
