Turn Your World Upside Down - Yoga in the Iyengar Tradition

The Iyengar approach to inversions and backbends. Explore the building blocks for creating safe practice as well as playfulness in the inverted poses and backward extensions. Saturday will focus on preparations and practice for headstand, handstand, elbow balance and shoulderstand. Sunday will focus on backward extensions.

The workshop will be suitable for anyone with 6 months practice or more and teachers and trainees are welcome as well as enthusiastic students of yoga.

You do not need to attend both days, you can book each workshop individually.


Rachel Lovegrove is a highly regarded international Iyengar yoga teacher with over 25 years experience. She has studied directly with BKS Iyengar, travels internationally to teach and maintains her professional development with BKS Iyengar’s family in India and advanced senior teacher Manouso Manos in San Francisco. She is a qualified Iyengar yoga assessor and mentor as well as a regular contributor to Om Yoga magazine, and other health related publications. Find out more at
