The aim of this workshop is to learn the complete set of 18 movements of the Qigong Shibashi set 1.
Each movement or exercise of the Shibashi set taught will be broken down and demonstrated, with emphasis on correct breathing and postural alignment. Enhancements and keeping the body connected through movement will also be discussed in order to evolve and enhance ones practice.
Some yin/yang and Qi Circulation theory underpinning the Qigong exercises is also discussed together with underlying principles practitioners should be aware of during exercise as well as some of the health promoting benefits of doing Qigong Shibashi.
The course is suitable for both beginners and/or those already attending the Tai Chi Class at New Energy Yoga. For those interested in attending the Tai Chi workshops later during the year the Qigong workshop provides an excellent base for those wishing to learn the more demanding and movement style of Tai Chi.
